Guidelines

The overall rule of eligibility of a song or album is that it must have an official release, either on CD, Vinyl or a streaming service such as Spotify or Apple Music. Unreleased songs are not counted in any award category.

Nominations for categories are awarded to the top three in each for the year. Anyone outside of the top 3 does not get a nomination just a mention.

This category includes any released song from any period of time. The winner of this category is the best or favourite song for that year.

This category is the best or favourite artist of that year, regardless of if they released music in that year or not.

This category is the best or favourite song release in the past year. The song must have had its official release between December 1st of the previous year to November 30th of the current year*. This does not include re-releases of previously released songs.

This category is the best or favourite album released in the past year. The album must have had its official release between December 1st of the previous year to November 30th of the current year*, and does not include deluxe or alternative versions of albums previously released.

This category is the best or favourite song released in any previous year and is not eligible for the New Song of the Year category.

The song must also have never been listened to before or had very minimal listening time prior to this year (<= 3 times).

This category is the best or favourite up and coming artist in the selectors’ listening habits. The selection is an artist that has been listened to more or enjoyed more this year than in previous years.

This category is the best or favourite feature on a song released in the past year. The song must have had its official release between December 1st of the previous year to November 30th of the current year*. This does not include re-releases of previously released songs, however, does include any new features added onto previously released songs.

To qualify as a feature the artist must either be named as a feature or not be the first artist named on the song.
